Giving Back with a Fundraiser for the Philippines

In the wake of the devastation left behind by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines last month, Premier Mounts hosted a fundraiser to raise contributions for the Red Cross relief efforts overseas. Haiyan is now known as the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, setting death tolls above 5,700 in that region of Southeast Asia alone. The typhoon, now recorded as the 4th largest in terms of wind speed, proved catastrophic in the Visayan Island portion of the Philippines, affecting and displacing close to 11 million people. Samuel Merritt University Teaches a Lesson in Classroom Design

Recently, Samuel Merritt University looked to update its classrooms in Northern California to allow for user-friendly HD VTC (Video Tele Conference) capabilities, as well as further involvement with their IT department to monitor and control the systems remotely when needed. In surveying the layout design of their San Mateo classroom, CompView Audio Visual discovered that two 70″ monitors would have to be placed against a giant window wall. Shading out the glare from the sun could be resolved with screens, but mounting the displays was a concern.
